Shirley L. Simpson, 92, of Altoona, PA; passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. She was born on August 22, 1928 in Altoona, PA; a daughter of the late Robert Yingling. On January 31, 1944 she was united in marriage to Donald J. Simpson; he preceded her in death on March 22, 1997. She is survived by children Bill Simpson married to Joan, Gettysburg, PA and Jim Simpson married to Pamela, Hollidaysburg, PA and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter Nancy Kelly and siblings Phylis Eckard and Robert Yingling. Mrs. Simpson previously worked at Dave’s Dream in Hollidaysburg but was most recently worked and retired from Hoss’s Restaurant where she was the first employee hired. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Hollidaysburg. She enjoyed playing Bingo and gardening but was especially fond of spending time with her grandchildren.
