Obituary for Tammy Marie "TJ" Granite

Tammy Marie “T.J.” Granite, 59, of Clarence passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 10, 1962, in Paris, France. A daughter of the late Mary (Nichols) Johnstonbaugh. On August 16, 1986, at the St. Michael’s Church in Clarence, she married the love of her life, Michael F. Granite Sr. They were married for 35 wonderful years and raised three amazing children together.

Tammy worked at Penn State for several years and ran a daycare center from her home. However, being a homemaker at heart, she decided to be a stay-at-home mom and raise her own children. It was by far the most rewarding job she ever had.

Tammy loved to travel, she always looked forward to camping and beach trips with her family. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, going to yard sales, playing Yahtzee, planting flowers and watching all the popular shows on T.V. Most recently, she looked forward to card nights with the girls and sitting on the back deck to watch the deer come in by her pond.

She was known for her outgoing personality, a warm generous heart and for making people laugh. She treasured the time spent with her husband, children and grandchildren, especially her grandchildren. She loved being their Bubba and took every opportunity to spoil them.

Along with her husband Michael, she is survived by her three children; Michael Granite Jr. (Ashley) of Howard, Meghan Klinger (Cody) of Mingoville, Kyle Granite (Anne) of State College; five grandsons, Sutton and Sullivan Granite, Colton Klinger, and Murphy and Lincoln Granite; mother-in-law, Rose Granite of Clarence; three sisters-in-law; Mary Ann Hamilton, Susan Lyncha (Scott), Karen Pipta (Phil); two brothers-in-law, Ralph Granite, and David Granite (Courtney); three siblings Ralph Holderman, Donna Valley, and Clifford Johnstonbaugh Jr. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and her canine companion, Grizzly the black lab.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law Francis F. Granite.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 2-4pm at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona, PA. The funeral mass will take place at 11 am on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the Queen of Archangel Catholic Church, 102 Church St, Clarence, PA 16829.
