Obituary for Tammy Marie "TJ" Granite

Tammy Marie "T.J." Granite, 59, of Clarence, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 10, 1962, in Paris, France, to the late Mary (Nichols) Johnstonbaugh.

On August 16, 1986, at St. Michael's Church in Clarence, she married the love of her life, Michael F. Granite Sr., and together they shared 35 wonderful years of marriage, raising three amazing children.

Tammy embarked on a fulfilling career at Penn State and also ran a daycare center from her home. However, her true passion lay in being a homemaker, and she made the decision to become a stay-at-home mom to raise her own children. This role brought her immense joy and proved to be the most rewarding job she ever had.

With an adventurous spirit, Tammy loved to travel, eagerly anticipating camping and beach trips with her family. She found delight in shopping, cooking, scouring yard sales, engaging in lively games of Yahtzee, tending to her garden of blooming flowers, and eagerly following popular TV shows. Recently, she cherished card nights with her girlfriends and cherished moments spent on the back deck, watching the deer gather by her pond.

Tammy will be remembered for her vibrant personality, warm generosity, and ability to bring laughter to those around her. She cherished the time spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren, especially relishing her role as Bubba and seizing every opportunity to spoil them.

In addition to her beloved husband Michael, Tammy is survived by her three children: Michael Granite Jr. (Ashley) of Howard, Meghan Klinger (Cody) of Bellefonte, and Kyle Granite (Anne) of State College. She also leaves behind five adored grandsons, Sutton and Sullivan Granite, Colton Klinger, and Murphy and Lincoln Granite. Her mother-in-law, Rose Granite of Clarence, and three sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Hamilton, Susan Lyncha (Scott), and Karen Pipta (Phil), as well as two brothers-in-law, Ralph Granite and David Granite (Courtney).Tammy is also survived by her siblings Ralph Holderman, Donna Valley, and Clifford Johnstonbaugh Jr., along with numerous nieces, nephews, and her faithful canine companion, Grizzly the black lab.

Tammy was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Johnstonbaugh and her father-in-law, Francis F. Granite.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, April 8, 2022, from 2-4pm at The Good Funeral Home Inc., located at 108 Alto Reste Park in Altoona, PA.
