Obituary for Thomas A. "Tom" Fahr

Thomas A. Fahr, 77, of Hollidaysburg went home to be with his Lord on October 12, 2021, at UPMC Altoona.
He was born July 5, 1944, in Baltimore, MD; son of the late Cecil and Eleanor (Madigan) Fahr. He married Beth (Rouzer) Fahr who survives in Hollidaysburg.
Thomas owned and operated his own masonry business, Fahr Masonry. He enjoyed his trade and won many awards for his outstanding work over the last 50 years. Tom was a hard working, devoted family man and a loyal friend to all. He will be deeply missed and will be remembered as a kind, generous man. He was greatly concerned with caring for the homeless and hungry.
Tom was a faithful lifelong member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Altoona.
Tom graduated from Altoona High School in 1962. He learned his masonry skills at Williamsport Trade School.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Christine Fahr of Hollidaysburg; two siblings, Robert Fahr (Kathy) of Hagerstown, MD, Susan Vannoy (John) of Port Matilda. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to: Sister Paula with St. Vincent de Paul Society Soup Kitchen, 2201 Union Ave, Altoona, PA 16601.
Family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021, at the Good Funeral Home, 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona, PA. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Fr. Frank Scornaienchi officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Alto Reste Park, Altoona.
