Thomas J. Yingling

Thomas J. Yingling, 68, Buckhorn, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Edwin T. and Alma (McMullen) Yingling.

Thomas is survived by his children: Heather Black and Edwin Yingling; three grandchildren: Megan, Sierra and Miranda; three great-grandchildren, Makenna, Collin and Kamilla; a sister, Jane Wicker; the mother of his children, Gail (Walters) McCloskey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene L. Yingling; and siblings: Alice Feather, Carol McGarvey and Robert (Pork) Yingling.

Tom worked as a truck driver and equipment operator mechanic. He was a member of the Buckhorn Bible Church and the Mountain Top Sportsmen’s Club.

He loved his faithful companion, Maggie, camping, fishing, watching his hummingbirds and spending time with his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or Wounded Warriors Foundation.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 2021, at The Good Funeral Home, 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona.
