Obituary for Vernon Duane Dively

Vernon "Duane " Dively, 65, of Claysburg, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2022 at the family farm. Born in Roaring Spring in September of 1956, he was the son of the late Vernon Logan Dively and Thelma "Toots" Weyandt.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Karen Dively. His daughter Kristin Dively, her significant other Kevin Weyandt and granddaughter Skylar Weyandt. Favorite cousin Cherie Steele, and best friend Brian Musselmanalong with his sister, Karen Dively.

Duane was a 1974 graduate of Claysburg Kimmel HS. He was a farmer before he could even walk, and he took over the family farm. He was always working on something, especially with his friend Brian! Growing up he enjoyed playing softball and basketball and taking fishing trips to Canada with his family. He's always enjoyed bowling, was a USBC member, and participated in various local leagues and tournaments. Duane loved the bowling community and made many great friends and memories. Everyone knew he was quite the talker and loved to joke around! Duane also enjoyed spending time with pets Joey and Benny and relaxing with them while playing sudoku. He also loved to eat, he cherished his daily meals with his mother and family, and he enjoyed going out to eat at various restaurants. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with "pappys girl" Skylar. Duane will be missed by many.

Family and friends will be received from 6-8pm on Friday, March 4th at The Good Funeral Home. 108 Alto Reste Park in Altoona. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday March 5th at 11am, same location, with Pastor Aaron Musselman of Morrison Cove Baptist Church officiating. Internment will take place at the Alto Reste Cemetery, located behind the funeral home.
