Virginia Ann Hampson

Virginia Ann Hampson, 84, of Hollidaysburg, went to join her husband in heaven Saturday morning. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Horace and Florine (Kelley) Fetters.

Virginia Married retired Sgt. 1st Class William P. Hampson on Sept. 5, 1956, and he preceded her in death on May 28, 1998.

Surviving are three sons: retired Master Sgt. William R. Hampson and his wife, Joanne, who is also an Air Force veteran, retired Staff Sgt. Alan J. Hampson and his wife, retired Technical Sgt. Maureen and John P. Hampson (Air Force vet) and his wife, Melody. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Matthew, Jason and Sean Hampson; a sister, Ruth Feltenberger; a nephew, Steve Feltenberger; a niece, Sharon Eichenlaub; and a great-niece, Jennifer Eichenlaub.

Virginia was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Hampson; a brother, Ken Fetters; a nephew, Ken Feltenberger; and a brother-in-law, Ray Feltenberger.

Virginia enjoyed crocheting, reading Mary Higgins Clark books, talking to her sister, Ruth, watching John Wayne movies and listening to the music of Elvis Presley and Alan Jackson.

She was a member of First Church of Christ Altoona, a 1954 graduate of Altoona High School, and she was a loving mother and homemaker.

Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service Friday, July 23, 2021, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park, with Pastor John Collins, officiant. Interment will follow in Alto Reste Park.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Virginia's memory by bringing a bag of dog or cat food to the visitation service for donation to be made to Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602; or please make a donation to your local animal shelter.
