Obituary for William C. Burns
William C. Burns, 77, of Altoona, PA; passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on December 10, 1945 in Altoona, PA; a son of the late John Clifford and Helen Mae (Beck) Burns.
He is survived by daughter Erica Wilson married to Bart, Altoona, PA; grandchildren Victoria Mayhue and significant other Austin Grove; William Mayhue married to Collette and Parker Wilson; great-grandchildren Bo Grove, Max Grove and Malcolm Mayhue; siblings George Clifford Burns and Kevin Patrick Burns; significant other Alice Adams.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by son John Thomas Burns and siblings Everett Gene Burns, John Joseph Burns and Catherine Burns.
William was a member of the United States Armed Forces; serving in both the United States Army and the United States Navy.
He enjoyed watching professional wrestling on the television, going for ice cream with Alice and spending time with his family.
At William's request there will be no public services.
Burial will take place at a later date at Alto Reste Park with full military honors.
