Obituary for William E. VanAllman
William E. VanAllman, 87, of Altoona died on Thursday, September 29, 2021, at his home.
He was born on October 16, 1933, in Altoona; a son of the late Thomas and Mabel (Kyle) VanAllman.
William proudly served his Country in the United States Army from 1950-1953 earning his honorable discharge and the rank of PFC. After serving, he worked in Auto Sales and owned a furniture store.
He was a Wartime History buff who also enjoyed working on puzzles and collecting coins.
William is survived by his children, Kenneth VanAllman of Altoona, Catherine Steuding (Michael) of Altoona, and Jenny Carroll of Tyrone; five grandchildren, Emily VanAllman, Amber VanAllman, Whitney High, James High, and L.J. Moyer Jr. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet VanAllman. After her passing he married Arlene Morse who also preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Blair County Honor Guard, 1665 Newry Ln, Duncansville, PA 16635.
Family will receive friends from 1-2p.m. on October 4, 2021, at the Good Funeral Home, 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona. The funeral service will be at 12:30p.m. with full military honors. Burial will be private at Alto Reste Park, Altoona.
