Obituary for Zachary Tyler "Zach" Peterman

Zachary “Zach” Tyler Peterman, 27, Altoona, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday after a motorcycle accident.

He was born in Altoona, son of Timothy A. and Tammy J. (Smith) Peterman.

Along with his loving parents, Zachary is survived by sister, Erica Lockard (Lee); a brother, Jared and his fiancee, Catherine; his nephew and “little buddy,” Landon; maternal grandparents, Richard and Patricia Smith; paternal grandmother, Audrey June Peterman; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was a 2010 graduate of Altoona Area High School. In 2014, he graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor of Science degree in electro-mechanical engineering technology. After graduation, he was employed at Penn State’s Physical Plant as a reliability planner.

He enjoyed the outdoors and he was an avid fly fisherman and hunter. He could often be found hanging out with friends or playing Xbox with his brother. He was a fan of anything Disney from the time he was young, an interest he shares with his mother. Holidays were of utmost importance to him because they are the time when all of the family is together. There was nothing that Zach cherished more than his family and the everlasting memories they made together.

Zach was the best son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle and friend that anyone could ever ask for.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2019, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home following Wednesday’s visitation, Pastor Ben Hoover officiating. Burial will take place at Alto-Reste Park.

Memorial donations in Zach’s name may be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
