Donald R. ‘Don’ Wray
March 17, 1940 - Feb. 28, 2017
Donald R. “Don” Wray, 76, Altoona, passed away Tuesday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Robert C. and Louise M. (Shamp) Wray. He was married to Margaret M. Wray, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 3, 2013.
Surviving are five daughters: Lonna Lynn (Steve), Donna Miller (Jim), Carole Rudella (Chris) and Dawn Hughes (Matt); two stepdaughters: Peggy Barley (Terry) and Jeanne Duffy (Bill); a stepson, David Plunket (Molly); 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Dixie McGinnis and Barbara Hazenstab; and four brothers: Terry, Rodney, Jeff and Robert “Pete” Wray.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Gearhart; a grandson, Jordan Gearhart; a sister, Linda Frank; and a brother, David Gordon.
Don worked at Amtran, and he was also employed as a firefighter for the city of Altoona. He was a member of Ward Avenue Presbyterian Church, Altoona.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service, Friday, March 3, 2017, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ward Avenue Presbyterian Church, 101 Coleridge Ave., Altoona, PA 16602.
