Obituary for Gerald Jack Bankert


Gerald Jack Bankert, 90 of Altoona died Saturday July 15, 2017 at UPMC Altoona.
He was born June 7, 1927 in Altoona the son of the late Ross and Elizabeth (Vipond) Bankert.
He was first married to Alice (Brohawn) who passed in 1990 then married Nancy Bankert who passed in June of 2011.
Surviving are his son, John W. Bankert and wife Renee; two grandchildren, Eric Bankert and wife Laura and Jason Bankert and wife Jayme; a great granddaughter, Kennady; two sisters, Elda Jean Burket and Jill Graybill; and Nancy’s extended family.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill and a sister, Ruth.
Jack was a member of United Methodist Church Hollidaysburg.
He was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Jack was a bakery oven installer all over the world for Spooner, Inc. for thirty plus years.
He enjoyed fishing, building models, and woodworking. He was a jack of all trades.
Friends will be received Thursday July 20, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The Good Funeral Home, Inc., 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Bottenfield officiating.
