Janet E.  McTigue
Janet E. McTigue, 89 of Hollidaysburg, entered the gates of Heaven after a brief illness on September 4, 2017. Janet was born July 17, 1928 in Blue Knob, daughter of the late Paul and Pearl (Ritchey) Hazlett. On September 12, 1947 she married Harold “Pat” McTigue who preceded her in death on October 8, 1986. Janet is survived by 4 brothers- Jerry(June) of Springfield, VA, John (Darlene) of Altoona,PA, Jim(Susan) of Bellwood, PA, Joe (Donna) Hazlett of Riggles Gap. Also surviving are 2 sisters- Genevieve Steinbrunner of Bedford PA, and Judy (Jerry) Henry of Altoona PA; 22 nieces and nephews, 32 great nieces and nephews, 23 great great nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by a brother in law- Jack Steinbrunner. Janet graduated from Altoona High School in 1947, she worked at Warnaco (Puritan) as a seamstress for over 40 years until she retired January 1, 1992. She was a member of the Dry Run Independent Baptist Church for over 50 years and served faithfully her Lord and Savior. Janet loved her family unconditionally and all were welcomed to her home with hugs and kisses and there were always lots of goodies to share and take home. She enjoyed collecting snowmen, doing jigsaw puzzles, and QVC. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints. (Psalm 116 verse 15).
Friends will be received from 9a.m. until the 12p.m. funeral service Thursday September 7, 2017 at the Dry Run Independent Baptist Church, 670 Valley Forge Road Duncansville, PA with Pastor John Leatherman officiating. Interment will be made at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dry Run Independent Baptist Church. Arrangements are by The Good Funeral Home Inc.
