Gary W. Thompson, 67, Altoona, passed away Friday after a courageous battle with cancer.

Gary was born in Altoona, son of the late Fred and Alberta (Boston) Thompson.

Surviving are a daughter, Bonnie Rightenour, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; two sons: Gary W. Graham of Bellwood and Troy Thompson of Altoona; two grandchildren: Bryce and Shayla Graham; two sisters: Donna Sciarrillo and her husband, Paul, of Altoona and Judith Smagowicz and her husband, Robert, of Hollidaysburg; a brother, Fred Thompson, and his wife, Vickie, of Altoona; and several nieces and nephews.

Gary was a 1969 graduate of Altoona Area High School and was employed by Newborn Enterprises Inc., Altoona. He enjoyed NASCAR and fishing.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service on Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park,with Pastor Bill Ice, officiant. Interment will take place at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Blair Unit, 1004 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
