Ernest Walter ‘Ernie’ Bubier

Ernest Walter “Ernie” Bubier, 71, Duncansville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday as a result of an accident in his garage.
He was born in Wilton, Maine, son of the late Charles and Zelma Lakin Bubier. On May 10, 1986, he married Karen Yohn in Wilton, Maine.
Surviving are his wife, Karen; four daughters: Kimberly (Catherine) Fitzgerald, Wendy Bubier, Lauri (Will) Cockrell and Jaime (Jay) Walton; two sons: Ernie Bubier and Jeremy (Alex) Jackson; eight grandchildren: Hannah May, Eric Bubier, Sydney May, Abby Bubier, Cody Bubier, Leah Bubier, Julianna Walton and Annaliese Jackson; a brother, Terri Bubier; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Colleen; two brothers: Ervins and Guy Bubier; and a sister, Charolette Bubier.
Ernie was a graduate of East Wilton Academy and University of Maine at Farmington. From 1966 to 1972, he served in the U.S. Army in 84th Engineer Battalion E5 Rank and was a 100% disabled veteran. He was employed at International Paper Co. (VERSO) and was self-employed as a dairy farmer and mechanic.
He enjoyed Civil War re-enacting, bee keeping, wine making and panning for gold. He was a member of North South Skirmish Association, 2nd U.S. Artillery Battery M.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service, Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park, Pastor Bill Pepper officiating. Interment with military honors provided by the Blair County Veteran Honor Guard will be held in Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
