Dec. 20, 1950 – June 9, 2018

Dale A. Datres, 67, Altoona, passed away Saturday at the UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a brief illness.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Stephen and Anna Mae (Beecher) Datres. On June 27, 1987, he married Darlene M. Windle at the Zion Lutheran Church, Hollidaysburg.

Surviving are his wife, Darlene; a daughter, Jessica S. Datres of Altoona; a son, Christopher J. Datres of Bellwood; and a brother, David E. Datres of Altoona.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Montgomery.

Dale was a 1968 graduate of Altoona Area High School and he was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired in 2001 from Norfolk Southern.

He enjoyed photography, auto mechanics, scuba diving and swimming.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park, and from 9 until the 10 a.m. funeral service on Friday, June 15, 2018, at First English Lutheran Church, Tyrone, Pastor Sharon Erb officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
