Sept. 9, 1940 – Dec. 21, 2015
David L. Settle, 75, Hollidaysburg, passed away in his home on Monday after a battle with lung cancer.
He was born in Hollidaysburg, son of the late David and Emma Settle. He was married to Joyce C. (Orr), who preceded him in death on March 29, 1996.
Surviving are four daughters: Doreen Boyer, Violet Shultz, Bonnie Pletcher and Jackie; a son, Leon; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and three brothers: George, Charles and Carl.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his son, Ken; and his brother, Jim.
David worked as a truck driver for Berwind-White Coal Mining Co. and was a member of the Vicksburg Grace Brethren Church of Hollidaysburg.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Friends will be received from 9 to the 9:30 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Pastor Tom Smith officiating. Interment will be made at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Blair Unit, 1004 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
